Little Brother

I watched this korean movie Little Brother on scv last sat. its a very touching movie about this boy and his elder brother. one day they discovered that the elder brother had a brain tumour, so he went for an operation to have his tumour removed. this little brother naturally feels neglected cos his parents spend most of their time taking care of his sick brother. once, he was so angry with his brother that he took his brother's towel to wipe his body. he didnt expect this to land his brother in hospital once again. from then on, he became less playful and even did many things to try to save his brother. soon, his brother had to undergo another operation cos the cancer cells are spreading again. i cried the most at this scene where they were outside the operation theatre and his bro begged his parents to bring him home, because he doesnt want to go through the operation once again cos it hurts alot. moreover, even if the operation saved his life, he would become blind. in the end he survived, but lost his eyesight. its touching to see the once playful boy holding on to his brother's hand as they walked, and even helping his brother button up his coat while they were out playing in the snow. the saddest part of all is that this is actually a true story. this boy have undergone 4 major operations and is still somewhere out there, fighting cancer.

After watching this movie, i was thinking those 'problems' that i'm facing is really nothing compared to the sufferings of this boy and many other sick children out there. so all of us should learn to complain less and cherish our life more.

My first dinner..

Today i cooked dinner! its my first time preparing dinner, including buying the ingredients myself. i've always had interest in cooking, but didnt have much chance to show my skills. today i just suddenly felt like cooking, so i went to cold storage and just pick some stuffs, then went back home and started cooking. since its my first meal, of cos i cooked my all-time favourite, potatoes. its potatoes with minced meat in the black sauce, my favourite dish. whenever my grandma cook this, i wont even bother to look at other dishes. then for dessert we have green bean soup. believe it or not, its really my first time cooking, but my dad and mum really say nice leh. and somemore they say not enough. my dad say next time i can take over him and i dun mind. it feels good when people around u appreciate your effort, so i'll learn to cook other dishes to reward them! :-)

World Cup Fever

Just when i thought me and my mum wasnt in the least bit affected by world cup, i was wrong. just now she pointed at 2 fishballs and asked me 'why u still dun eat your football?' then i guess u guys noe wat happened to me for the following 5 mins.

Just received the Ntu handbook just now. i'm getting scared cos i noe this means school is going to start and my current lifestyle is going to end very soon. once its gone, i'll never be able to lead this kind of life anymore. more and more obstacles and challenges waiting for the me who totally have no interest or motivation to face and overcome. i foresee i'm going to face many things alone in my near future. i've never had this kind of fear, because previously i always have friends around when moving to a new environment. this time round, i'm really gonna be alone. if i'm granted a wish now, i hope i can remain in june 2006 forever.

Driving again..

Had driving lesson just now. got so much scolding from my instructor cos i forgot many important things he taught me in the first lesson. keep making silly mistakes and i cant coordinate when he suddenly give so many instructions. i'm just not myself just now. and then his car broke down after i finish my lesson. haha, i dun think its me lah, today the car only died once mah. last week died 5 times leh. next week i better be more awake!

Last night had family dinner. its been a long time since the 4 of us sat down together. miss the happy, good old days..

Shopping :-)

I had a great day! went shopping with yan, audrey and yt at bugis just now. its been a long time since the 4 of us gathered to go shopping, and it feels good to be with them again. we had lunch at this terra restaurant or terra something. i think the food there was quite ok, but yt kept complaining about the quality of the food throughout the whole time we were there, until the bill came. our set meal was supposed to be $10++ per person, plus we topped up our drinks from coffee/tea to mocha and shakes, so we gotta pay extra $2 plus or $3, but when the bill came, yt found out that the total amount is only $41 plus, which meant that each of us only need to pay $10.45. so she smelled something fishy and say we should get out of that place asap. haha, so with all the money in our hands, we grabbed everything and went out in the fastest possible time. ok, maybe that restaurant had some promotion that we were unaware of, so it was so cheap! i cant help but laugh at yt for not upgrading her coffee, wahaha.. after that we went to Pink Industrie where i bought this brown top. despite the rain, we went ahead to bugis street to shop. there were many cheap and nice stuff there, like i got this knee-length pants with those big pockets at only $18, while its sold at Far East at $30. i also bought a belt and a white t-shirt, thus achieving my goal for the day. and i've found the bag that i've long wanted! its sold in wallet shop, that Myuk brand. its those leather bag and its only $36, but i haven bought it cos there are more designs coming up in this 2 weeks. today's shopping ended very early for me, cos had to rush back to sengkang by 9 for my guitar lesson. i really cant bear to leave bugis, cos there are still many places we haven shopped!

While shopping, i had the feeling that i dun wanna go for the guitar lesson, but when i'm having lessons, i hope it'll never end. its really nice to learn something u like, u just cant wait to learn more. i just realised how fortunate i am to be able to do wat i've always been wanting to do. i may have wasted many months by not enrolling myself into a music school earlier, but its always not too late to start learning. because of the lost time, i appreciate the learning process even more. so, if there are things u've been wanting to do, cast all worries aside and just do it! then u'll be able to be as happy as i am now. hope my passion for guitar will stay with me forever and ever!!

Yesterday went to watch Over the Hedge with Michelle. many parts quite funny, and the last part was abit touching too, so its a good movie to watch if u want a relaxing afternoon. so since we were already at orchard, we cant possibly miss shopping rite?! when we came out it was raining, and the rain really dampened my mood, cos i really dislike getting wet all over by the rain. in the end, we parted at around six plus, cos i was too tired and hungry to shop further, and i cant wait to eat my char siew rice at home. luckily got home in time to watch the 8pm and 9pm show on SCV. at 945pm, right after watching Shui Dong Lou, i was so tired that i went to bed immediately. well, i was happy cos i was thinking i wont have difficulty getting to sleep since i was so tired, but who knows mr eden toh is so hyper last night that he shouted for my mum so loudly when he came home! so, i almost jumped out of my bed at 1140pm. and then i couldnt sleep anymore. i think i finally went back to sleep around 1 or 2am, but was again woken up at 7am by this old woman who called the wrong number. then i couldnt sleep again. wat a day!

and by the way, i received a letter from Meridian saying i got the Colours Award. heard from jy that its some cca awards, but i'm puzzled because honestly, i dun recall being very outstanding in guitar. compared to many others, i'm neither a good player nor an active member. seriously, i'm not at all keen about going on stage to get an award. before i got this letter, i was planning to just go as an ex-student to see the ceremony. i'll prefer to sit there and see rather than go up on stage.

Life sucks..

Life sucks when u have difficulty getting to sleep every night.

Life sucks when u are not at all looking forward to moving on to the next phase of your life.

Life sucks when u have no choice but to leave home, leave your parents and stay out for the next 3 years. because there is no one out there who will love u as much as your parents do, and no one will ever be like your parents, always putting your benefits and well-being above theirs no matter wat happens.

Life sucks when there are so much uncertainties in your near future.

Life sucks when u miss someone so much but he doesnt noe it.

Life sucks when u cant have that someone's support when u need it badly, or share happy things with him.

Ups and Downs in Life

When something bad happens very suddenly in your life, beware! more will follow.. just when i thought things could be resolved with some job done, things arent that simple. when heaven wants u to be troubled and worried, u cant run away from it. so yeah, i'm indeed very troubled now. this time round, i hope i can solve my problems myself. dun want to trouble my parents anymore because they always get more worried than myself. i hope and i believe things will turn out fine eventually.

I love shopping because when u are out shopping, u can cast all the unhappy things aside. i'm very satisfied with everything i bought today, and thats the best feeling ever, not having any regrets with wat u bought and feeling that your money is very well-spent. i got a retro top, highly recommended by ms cheng that i should try retro style. then bought this checkered knee-length pants to go with it. and also that jeans, i love the design and colour. and i'm so proud of myself for leading ms cheng into that shop, where she bought the t-shirt that is so cheap and nice. so happy that both of us got something we like at the end of this tired day. but it seems that we didnt benefit much from GSS rite? why ah?

My First Guitar Lesson

Before i had my first guitar lesson, my day was a sucky day. I just realised that my grandma has aged alot. i guess i haven given her much attention since i moved to sengkang. we dun get to see each other as often as before, and even when i have time, i wont think of giving her a call to ask how she's doing. today i accompanied her to the hospital for a check-up, and she gotta take lots of medicine home. and she already have al0t at home. when did she start taking all these medicines i really dunno. when did she start having all this illness i dunno either. haiyo i feel so bad..

My First Guitar Lesson definitely brightened my sucky day. Erm, my guitar teacher, he's... eh.. haha, he's black! Haha, he's an Indian man and he's got long hair, haha..

Got a big shock when i saw him, my mum definitely got a bigger one. before i go in she keep telling me, u be careful ah.. ignore her lah she's abit racist. (just like Ms Cheng) Anyways, he's a nice guy, quite friendly. but well, i just feel uncomfortable speaking to people who doesnt understand chinese, like Indians and ang-mohs. sometimes when they speak too fast i just cant catch them and its very awkward leh. so far, i can hear most of the things my teacher says, so hope there's no communication problem. I'm so happy i'm finally learning guitar, i'm so excited about learning new guitar skills and my teacher says he'll teach me easy ways to read notes. oh my god, i cant wait for the next lesson!!

Driving is fun!

I had my first driving lesson just now. it was very fun and basically i could control a car now. under my control, the engine of the car died 5 times within 1.5 hours. haha, its really tired having to step on the clutch, and after some time quite painful, so i keep releasing it without myself knowing. but my instructor was very nice, patient and humorous. only scolded me that 5 times. and keep saying silly jokes and keep telling me to relax. then he also abit loso lah, keep asking me about my parents and brother. i think he's a cool instructor, dare to let me drive around even though its only my first time. i drove to many places, did u-turns, left and right turns and even drove from a minor road into a heavy major road. really really fun.. cant wait for the next lesson. :-)

I was very pissed with my brother last night. it was 12.30am already and he still switch on the tv volume so loud. when i went out to scold him, he couldnt even hear me. of cos lah, the tv so loud and he was talking to his gf on the phone at the same time. when i ask him to lower the volume he still have the cheek to say he cant hear the tv. please lah, u talking on the phone how to listen to the tv! if u cant forgo the tv show, forget about talking to your gf, if u really wanna talk to your gf, forget about watching tv. dun try to multi-task if u are not capable of doing it!

Daddy: Ya lah.. then not my fault mah..

MJ Guitar Night

Last night went back to Mj for guitar night. The performance was great, except for some parts when the main ensemble was not very 'together'. Other than that, everything else was perfect. i think Mr Liauw slimmed down abit, and his performance was still as cool as ever! not forgetting this very cute J2 guy (according to Yan, his name is David) who is so enthu and was the only one who kept looking up and smiling to the audiences. Aiyo when he smile his face so cute.. and the way he shake his head so happily, haha.. I'll give him the best performer award because not everyone could be like him, enjoying himself so much during a performance. thats wat a good performer should be like!

Of cos going back to Mj brings back many font memories. jy reminded me of all the nonsense she did when we were attending physics lectures. really miss the good old days we had in Mj..

I'm Sick Again

I'm sick. its flu again and i feel like dying. Was still very energetic last night leh, dunno why so fast become half dead.

I cant wait for friday. Its the long awaited Guitar Night 2006. its the first ever MJ Guitar night, so i'm really looking forward to it. The songs that the alumni will be playing are very nice, so wish them all the best on that day. I cant help but recall the nervous moments that i had when i was performing in LT4 during dunno wat event. Now i'll be sitting in as audience, how nice. Also, i cant wait to see my darling jy. Hey why she seem like my bf ah? Cant wait to see her leh, haha.

To those who wear contacts, please take real good care of your right hand forefinger. I cut my forefingers last night, and had to put my contacts on my middle finger then pull down the lower part of my eye using my very weak forth finger. Both of them got into my eyes on first attempt, but my fingers cramp sia. Tonight still haven figure out how to take them out.

These are the 3 things i said to my uncle for his birthday yesterday.

This 3 'orbit' wishes came to my mind when i was thinking of wat to say to him this year. For the past few years i just told him 'happy birthday', so wanted to think of something more to wish him.

I think these 3 things are very important in life.

事事順利:
Life is full of ups and downs. everyone have to go through different things so that we'll learn and grow. with the ups and downs, life becomes challenging. however, for me, i'll rather have a peaceful life, i hope everything around me can happen as i would want them to. i want to be free from troubles and worries, so i wish for 事事順利.

天天开心:
I think i've already achieved this. basically i'm happy everyday. in school my friends laugh with me, at work my colleagues laugh with me, at home although i have to laugh alone, i'm still happy. hope i can still be easily amused for the rest of my life!

身体健康:
This is totally out of our control. Its already very terrible when we have to suffer from things like fever, flu, cough or sore throat. cant imagine how it would be if we have to suffer from any other kind of disease or sickness. also, without good health, we cant achieve any other goals. so everybody, please lead a healthy lifestyle. on your part, do all u can to make yourself a healthy person.

At Work

I'm working now. i'm on my lady boss's deck, using her computer to do work. Its so very cosy and confortable here lah. outside so cold and noisy. but its abit too comfortable to work. So lets have joke of the day!

If u listen to 93.3 every morning, there is joke of the day at about 10am. Today was the first time i laughed. Its quite cute, so here goes..

In this family, no one likes to do housework. Daddy push the job to mummy, mummy push it to son, son push to younger sister. (sounds like my home) Poor sister have no choice but to push it to her doggie. One day, a visitor came to their home and saw the dog cleaning the window. He was amazed by the dog and said: "Wow, a dog knows how to clean the window." The dog replied: "Cleaning the window is nothing lah." The visitor is even more amazed that the dog can speak. The dog replied again: "Shhh.... Dun let them know i can speak! or else they will even make me pick up the phone calls!!"

Eh, how is it? this is really the funniest so far, so make do with it for the time being.

The First Post

I've finally got a blog! Great timing rite? Everyone else is already sick of it and i'm just starting to play with it. Well, those who noe me well enough will noe that i'm always like this. Actually there have been many things i've been wanting to do, but havent really got the time or drive to do them. Starting a blog is one of these things. I was reading someone's blog just now and suddenly i felt inspired. She wrote out all the unlucky things that happened to her on a particular day and i thought it was a good way to vent out your frustrations by sharing it with others. Since i encounter unlucky things quite occasonally and i havent found ways to vent out my anger, i'll do it here.

I havent met any unlucky things today, so i'll just share some good news.

1) I'll officially stop work on 1st June 06.
2) I just passed my driving Final Theory Test on 15 May 06.
(It was my first attempt!)
3) I'm trying to become a better person.
